Chelsea FC Registration Process

Registration with Chelsea FC is finalised once these steps have been completed:

Which Team?

The majority of our teams play in Football Victoria Community Leagues, with some playing in Bayside FA.

On registering, select the relevant playing group based on your year of birth (e.g. if you are born in the year 2011 you will have to register with the Under 15s). 

Sub-Juniors and Juniors will be required to select one of the following options:

§  Graded Team – Kangaroos/Wallabies

Suitable for talented, ambitious and committed players and parents. Teams play in higher level leagues and selections are based on football skill. Friendship requests will not be considered.

§  Non-Graded Team – Joeys

Suitable for those not wishing to be in a graded team and likely to encompass all football abilities. These teams will play in the lower level leagues.

Sub Junior (U8-U11) GIRLS ONLY TEAMS

There is the option to select a preference for Sub Junior (U8-U11) Girls for those who prefer to play in a girls-only team*.  These teams will play fixtures on a Sunday morning, not the usual Saturdays.

*This will only be possible if we have enough numbers to create a team.

Please Note

All Sub-Juniors and Juniors are required to attend assessments and team selections will be made on football ability.  Those who don't/can't attend assessments will be placed in a Joeys team.

We anticipate that all teams will train twice a week and training will be delivered at the appropriate ability level to help everyone improve over the season. Some players may be asked to ‘train up’ a level during the season as their ability improves. All Sub-Junior & Junior players are not permitted to play up in any age group without the approval of the Technical Director.

Teams will ONLY be finalised once numbers registered make up enough players to field a team with FV. If minimum numbers cannot be reached, we will contact all affected players and offer alternative teams to make sure all kids get on the pitch.

Football Victoria & Bayside FA Registration Process

In addition to registering with Chelsea FC, all players will need to register with their relevant league via Play Football.  This is MANDATORY and links will be sent out to action this sometime in mid-late January 2026  For the majority, there will be additional fees associated with this registration.
