Welcome to the 2018 season!

On behalf of the Chelsea FC committee we would like to welcome you to our club for 2018. We hope that this year will be an enjoyable one for you and your child and that you all enjoy this great game we call football.

This year started on a great note with the running of the 3rd Easter Cup with 34 teams from across metro Melbourne participating and well over 1000 people attending. We made a couple of minor changes to last years tournament, which made for a great day. Again, our visiting teams were envious of our great facilities and playing fields. Big thank you to Peter Sinclair for running another successful event for Chelsea FC,

This year we plan to hold several social activities as well as information nights about health. Following on from the successful Outside the Locker Room project, we will be running the same program this year. They have made some minor changes to the program, so we welcome all to attend. Also, we will holding a few social events, which is a great opportunity for you and your team mates to get together in a social environment.

Saturday 26th May - Poker Night - Tickets $60 – 1st Prize – Trip to Bali!

Ladies Movie Night – TBA – replaces Ladies Night

Outside the Locker Room (OTLR) dates

Tuesday May 22nd – 7.30pm - Coach/Support/Committee/Parents Staff session

Tuesday June 5th – 7.30pm - 2nd year Program launch (Everyone)

Tuesday June 19th – 7.30pm - Drugs/Mental Health session (players)

Tuesday August 14th – 7.30pm - Alcohol/Gambling session (players)

 

Remember that our club rooms are available for hire if you wish to hold a function. Please contact the club for further information.

 

One of the most important aspects of running a successful club is communication. As you can appreciate, trying to communicate to over 400 plus members can be hard as everybody has their preferred method be it Facebook, text, email, web page…etc. This year we will continue with Team App, which was an App we introduced last year.  We urge you all to install it on your phone and select Chelsea Soccer Club as your club. We will continue to do regular Facebook posts as well as send out emails.


As with any club, we only have a handful of volunteers who help run the day to day operations of Chelsea FC and where we always try to do things right, unfortunately from time to time things don’t go as planned. This year, we did have some issues with our online registrations and team allocation as we started using our new online registration and player management system called Majestri. As we are still learning how to use the system, there maybe some hiccups along the way, but in the long term, we are confident that, it will really help the club stream line a number of administrative duties.  We greatly appreciate your patience.


We welcome our new canteen team and ask that you try to support them. We had to out source it this year and trust that you will be happy with their food and service.
